With just one tool, you can recover both text messages and any media attachments, including pictures, videos, voice notes, audio, animated gifs, and stickers! How It Works

Messages are encrypted on your device, so WAMR cannot access them directly. Instead, it reads them from the notifications you receive and creates a message backup based on your notification history. As soon as WAMR detects a deleted message, it immediately notifies you. It's that simple!

Media Messages

WAMR also makes an effort to save any media attached to a message. Even if the sender deletes it, WAMR will notify you so that you don't miss out on any important content. The following media types can be recovered: pictures, videos, animated gifs, audio, voice notes, documents, and stickers.

Limitations

Please note that there isn't an official or supported way to recover deleted messages. WAMR works as a workaround and comes with some limitations that may be caused by the messaging app you're using or even the Android OS:

• If a chat is silent or if you're actively viewing a message on the messaging app before it's deleted, you won't receive a notification, which means WAMR can't save it. Additionally, messages/notifications sent or received before downloading WAMR cannot be recovered.
• If messages aren't being saved, it may be due to Android killing WAMR. To prevent this, make sure WAMR is removed from all battery optimization services.
• WAMR can only save files that are completely downloaded. If you're offline, have an unstable connection, or if the sender deletes a message containing media before it's downloaded by the messaging app, WAMR won't be able to save it.
• If you're not using a WiFi connection, certain media may not be automatically downloaded by your messaging app based on your settings. You can change this behavior in your messaging app's settings under "Data and storage usage".
